The design and testing of a Helmholtz prototype probe with relatively homogeneous radiofrequency field that can be used for MRI are presented in this paper. It consists two coaxial separately tuned ellipsoidal rings wire symmetric arrangement. developed structure is tested experimentally free space compared the results obtained an equivalent circular standard coil. Complete electrical modeling coils taking into account all couplings (inductive capacitive) studied. proposed coil provides better performance terms homogeneity, efficiency, quality factor. width lobe at 10% 20% bigger.
